It's time for our Winter 2010 Session of Christian Education courses! Register today for several new offerings that are slated to begin between Wednesday, January 6th and Sunday, January 10th. As always, childcare is available should you need it for children ages infant-K.

Alien, Ambassador, Bride, Child, Friend, Priest, Servant. The Bible clearly describes followers of Christ as all of these things. Our world has a way of twisting reality and making us think we are defined by words like smart, successful, rich, athletic, powerful, beautiful. This course will help you understand who God says you really are and how living out our true identity in Christ is foundational to being a Christ follower.

DISCOVERY
Join us on a journey of Discovery. This 5-week course will explore how God uniquely created us and how he has wired us to grow in truth, develop healthy relationships and impact our world. We will also explore how Monte Vista Chapel can partner with you in your spiritual journey. Everyone should exit this class with a good idea of what a solid next step in their journey is. So whether you are exploring what our church has to offer, want to learn what this spiritual journey looks like, or are interested in becoming a member of MVC, this class is for you.

ESSENTIALS 2 - DISCOVERING Intimacy with God
Discovering Intimacy with God is designed to acquaint you with God at a much deeper level, and to help you make progress knowing the wonderful God who desires to have a relationship with us. This class will reveal a God who pursues relationship with us. It will uncover some of God's most outstanding and profound attributes. It will focus on the individual members of the Trinity. And we will conclude with lessons on our proper response to God's character, loving him and loving others.

Right before He ascended into heaven Jesus said:
"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Matthew 28:19-20
The Christian Education Department at Monte Vista Chapel exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
We are all somebody's disciple. Have you ever thought about that? Who or what has taught you "how to live"? Perhaps it was your parents, teachers, crucial people, friends, or the many forms of media? But who we are and what we believe have a lot to do with significant influences in our past.
To become a disciple of Jesus means renewing our minds with the truths of God and His Word, with an intentional focus on living in the Kingdom of God. It means identifying our false beliefs and ways of life. It means learning from Jesus how to live our lives as He would live our lives if he were us. "Doing life in the name of Jesus..." (Col. 3:23) is a very intentional and daily goal. And we need to know the Bible...God's instruction manual on disciple-making....in order to develop a biblical worldview as the lens through which we see all of life.
If you are new to MVC or new to the Bible or you want to grow a solid bibilical foundation/worldview in your life, we encourage you to enroll in a Christian education class...and become intentional about spiritual transformation, and becoming a disciple of Jesus.
