Meet Mark LaChapell

What do you love to do at Monte Vista Chapel?
My passion is to come alongside guys as they work through the stuff of life
that's driving them to Christ. I get to see the Spirit reveal, heal and free them to
live a life that transcends their situations and brings freedom. What could be better?

In what city did you make your formal debut?
Turlock

Where did you go to school?
Attended Turlock High School, Modesto Junior College (AA), Teaching Credential
UC Berkeley

For better or for worse, who knows you best?
My wife, Linda, knows me the best, followed by daughter Michelle VanVliet and
son Scott.

You favorite way to spend a day?
That depends on what kind of day, if it's clear and sunny, probably riding the CanAm Spyder
or enjoying the back yard with friends. If it's not so nice outside, then perhaps designing a Vacuum Tube based piece of studio gear, guitar amp or reading a good book.

Julia Child’s in your kitchen….what’s your request?
That's kinda difficult.... She's probably not into In and Out burgers.

Speaking of dinner, if you could share a meal with anyone, dead or alive… who would it be?
I would like to sit down one more time with my Dad.

What movie can you watch over and over and over?
How about a short list: African Queen with Humphry Bogart or RV with Robin Williams.

Favorite Childhood memory?
Flying the family 52 Desoto(car) on special missions over enemy territory. My older brother was
the pilot, I was the Co-Pilot and my younger brother was the Navigator. We would use
cream pitchers for oxygen masks, and of course, have to bail out over enemy territory.

Your Favorite Books?
Bible, Raggamuffin Gospel, The Body by Chuck Colson, Surrender to Love, Benner

Toilet paper…. Over or under?
Over, except when our kids were toddlers.
