Meet Rick Ryan

In what city did you make your formal debut?
Modesto, CA

Where did you go to school?
Central Catholic High School, CSU Fresno, Fresno Pacific University

For better or for worse, who knows you best?
I have been married to my wife since 1999. She is fantastic, beautiful and I love her very much. We are blessed with two fabulous children who we adore.

You favorite way to spend a day?
I love the coast, but I am not picky…. the mountains are great too. I love to try new things, hangout with my wife or friends, do nothing, read, watch movies, or spend time in the outdoors.

Julia Child’s in your kitchen….what’s your request?
Cook – Cook anything (just about) – I am sure it will be great!

Speaking of dinner, if you could share a meal with anyone, dead or alive… who would it be?
I would love to have dinner with my parents who are deceased and my wife and kids because I know they would have such fun together if they had the opportunity to meet.

What do you love to do at Monte Vista Chapel?
I love spending time with people, but I have a passion for college students and helping them grow in their walk with Jesus. As well, I love to see people receive prayer and watch God show up and heal people physically and emotionally, watch Him set people free through deliverance and simply be a part of God loving people in real and present ways through prayer.

What’s on Your iPod?
I am not stuck on any particular music type – though there are definitely some things I don’t enjoy… I am not a fan of Rap. But I do have some rock music, some worship music, some country music, some instrumental, some alternative and some Christian music... it just depends on my mood. As well I like to listen to teaching, sermons, lectures, comedy and pod casts whenever I can.

What movie can you watch over and over and over?
I suppose it depends on what is meant by “watch over and over”, but Lord of the Rings is an all time favorite – I love the books as well.
I also like The Hunt for Red October, For the Love of the Game, Brave Heart, Spy Game and pretty much any comedy that is actually funny and most Sci-Fi movies.

Favorite Childhood memory?
As a kid, I loved going to the lake with my family. We would water ski, inner tube and fish. Then we would camp out on beach and spend the whole weekend having a great time.

Toilet paper…. Over or under?
Over of course, everyone knows this. It is the way, in fact, God intended the world to be ordered.
