What do you love to do at Monte Vista Chapel?
Exactly what I do today, I told my Mom the other day that all those years I was running around the world playing rock stagehand, manager, producer, God was training me up for this job I love to do today
In what city did you make your formal debut?
Well that’s a good one, I’m adopted and my birth cert. says Corona Ca. and my birthmother says it was at Camp Pendelton so who knows. I know I’m Native Californian.
Where did you go to school?
I am a graduate of Ripon High and hold a Phd from the School of Hard Knocks
For better or for worse, who knows you best?
My dog Scooter, sometimes I don’t even have to say a word, and then there’s my wife Tami who really knows who I am. She’s my best friend and soulmate. We have 4 great kids ages 30 to 21, and 3 grandsons. Grand kids are the greatest gift you can ever have
Your favorite way to spend a day?
On the boat with Tami, We have a 37’ Classic Chris Craft, sometime we don’t even have to leave the dock and have a relaxing time
Julia Child’s in your kitchen….what’s your request?
Anything seafood either Mexican style or Carribean style. My favorite is jerk seasoning from Jamaica
Speaking of dinner, if you could share a meal with anyone, dead or alive… who would it be?
Boy that’s a tough one, Is this a loaded question? Of course to sit down and break bread with our Lord would be the best #1. If Jesus couldn’t make it that night, it would be with all my friends that have left this world already. Some would know each other and some would not but they would all have a great time.
Favorite Childhood memory?
Getting up early in the morning after begging my Dad all night to take me fishing with him. He is a big part of my love for the water and boats
If you had a Superhero Power it Would Be…?
It would be the ability to fly, when I was a kid, I could fly at will in my dreams it was so cool. I heard latter that there was some kind dream analyzer who had something to say about that but I’ve forgotten now.
How would you spend a Million Dollars?
Uh, a bigger boat maybe, I wouldn’t have to spend it all on it just something a little more comfortable. The rest I would like to do something for parentless children as the need is so great and the love is so needed.
People tell you “You’re a dead ringer for….”?
Many years ago, and I mean many, when my hair was much darker and a little curlier, I was told I could look like Tom Seleck. Don’t laugh now they asked the question and I said many years ago. Now much latter with the gray and when I have the beard We were at the Ripon High Centennial get together one of my school mates who’s husband is a casting director spotted me and said to each other simultaneously “Kenny Rodgers” I have a question of my own, Have you ever met your twin? I did once in the San Jose Airport. I walked by this guy and we looked at each other and stared as we passed and the people around us noticed it too as they were all staring at the two of us as well. Not a word was said we just stared at each other as we kept on walking.
